Water Tracker Privacy Policy‍ ‍

Water Tracker helps a group of riders share live location on the water so nobody gets lost. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.

Information we use

- Location: Approximate and precise location while you use the app (and in the background if you allow it) so your position can appear on the group map and so features like follow-me and nearby ramps can work.

- Rider name: The display name you enter so others in your group can identify you.

- Device identifier: A random ID stored on your device so the app can recognize you when you reopen it. We do not require a traditional account or password.

- Messages: Text you send to other riders or to the whole group.

- SOS status: If you turn on SOS, that status is shared with others in your current group so they can see you need help.

How we use it

We use this information only to run Water Tracker: show riders on the map, deliver messages and SOS status within your group, look up boat ramps/marinas, and keep the service working. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

Your location, name, messages, and SOS status are shared with other people who have joined the same group while you are connected. Live data is processed on our hosting provider (cloud servers) to make the map and messaging work. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

Group presence is short-lived while you are connected; when you leave or go quiet, others stop seeing a live update. We do not keep a long-term public profile of your rides.

Your choices

You can turn off location permission in system settings (the map features will not work without it). You can leave a group, turn SOS off, or stop using the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the ID stored on that device.

Children

Water Tracker is not directed at children under 13.
